How To Make Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
via Anna Olson
Directions
Combine butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together and cream well. Next, beat in the egg and the vanilla.
Using a separate bowl, sift the flour with cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Combine these ingredients with the butter mixture and stir until well blended. Add in the chocolate chips and pecans (optional).
For this next step, Anna uses a small ice cream scoop. A tablespoon will also work. Scoop spoonfuls of dough (about 2 Tbsp) and shape them into a ball.
Place them on a parchment-lined baking tray or a plate.
Chill the scooped cookies for at least an hour. If not used straight away, the cookies can be frozen for baking later.
Cookies Baking Instructions
via Anna Olson
Preheat the oven to 325ºF (162 C). Arrange the scooped chilled cookies onto parchment-lined baking trays. Be sure to leave 3 inches (7.5 cm) between the cookies. Bake for 15-18 minutes, until browned around the edges.
Once the cookies are golden, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking tray before serving.
If you are baking cookies using the frozen dough, arrange the frozen cookies on the baking tray and let them thaw for 20 minutes at room temperature before baking as above.
